About
Jake Subin is a recording and mixing engineer at Ghost Hit Recording with over a decade of experience making records across a wide range of musical styles. His work is rooted in a deep understanding of studio craft and a belief that the best sessions happen when artists feel supported and free to focus entirely on the music.
He works in a variety of studios, including Ghost Hit Recording, Pilot Recording Studio, and Parkville Sounds. His technical approach in the studio keeps sessions running smoothly, solving problems before they arise and letting artists stay focused on the music.
Jake got his start at The Cutting Room Studios in New York, coming up the traditional way — from intern to assistant engineer to engineer — learning firsthand how great records are made from the inside of the room. He later became Chief Engineer at Karmic Power Records and went on to serve as Chief Engineer and Studio Manager at Telefunken Elektroakustik.
Jake’s recording and mixing credits include Alt-J, Dirty Projectors, CHVRCHES, Ben Gibbard, Steve Jordan, Umphrey’s McGee, Allen Stone, The Wood Brothers, Candlebox, and others.
